Rounding Up Human Capital Compiled by Heather Cocks, Robert Elder Jr. and Andrew Park American-Statesman Staff Monday, December 11, 2000 Two groups that help executives get involved in nonprofits are teaming up to make investing money and time a little easier. Today, the groups will announce their partnership: the Austin Entrepreneurs Foundation, which helps convert pre-IPO donations of stock in to money for nonprofits once a donating company goes public, and Austin Social Venture Partners, which helps private-sector executives find the best way to share their expertise with not-for-profit organizations. The idea is to be "a one-stop shop" with a goal of spurring more tech involvement in the community, said McKeever Darby, executive director of the social venture partners. The groups arent merging, but Darby says they might eventually share space as part of their alliance. For more information contact: communications@asvp.org |
